Types of businesses that require Moving and Handling of people training
Care providers such as hospitals, care homes and care agencies that have service users/patients that require assistance to be moved, then care staff must receive moving and handling training based on the requirements of risk assessments and care plans.
Course Content
- Manual handling regulations
- Skills for Care and Core Skills Framework syllabus
- Manual handling risk assessments
- Importance of record keeping
- Causes and prevention of musculoskeletal injury
- Anatomy and applying safe posture to moving and handling tasks
- People handling moving and handling equipment: slide sheets, floor and tracking hoists, stand aids, wheelchairs, rota stands
- People handling practical skills
- Specific moving and handling transfers as required by customer
Course Duration
Courses are available as half or one day formats, depending on customer requirements.
Method of Assessment
Students will be assessed by a multiple choice question paper and practical skills assessment. On successful completion a certificate will be provided.
Face-to-face
Training courses can be provided on your business premises at a time convenient for you and your staff 7 days a week.
